Dr. Lokman Khan
We are what we are—
A nation molded by time and turmoil,
A story carved in the heart of the earth,
Where rivers flow with the strength of our resolve.
We survived the storms,
The quakes of history,
The wars that sought to break us.
Yet we stand, unbroken,
A resilient nation.
We are what we are—
December whispers our truth,
Echoes of courage,
Of rising against the odds.
In 1971, we faced the mighty
And claimed the birthright of freedom.
Through shadows of doubt,
Through paths astray,
We found our way again.
We fought the autocrats,
We fought again in 2024,
Each victory a reminder:
We are not to be subdued.
No force, no foe,
Can defeat the heart of Bangladesh.
We are what we are—
A people united in the face of adversity,
Carrying the weight of our martyrs’ dreams,
Honoring their sacrifice in every step forward.
On December 16th, we celebrate,
The day we were born anew,
But the fight does not end.
Our journey continues,
Until the vision of ’71 is fulfilled,
Until the promise of freedom blooms
In every corner of our land.
We are what we are—
The blood of 2024’s martyrs rekindles our flame,
A beacon that guides us back to our purpose.
We are the voice of our history,
The hands that build the future,
A nation proud, defiant, resilient.
We are Bangladeshi,
And we rise,
Together.
