A poem by Dr Lokman Khan
As we journey through the years, we age,
We often feel like our sails are tattered,
We often think there’s little left to do,
But then we see someone, nearly ninety,
Like an old lighthouse,
Shining brightly, guiding ships tirelessly,
Working like youth,
We feel a spark, feel inspired,
Our compass begins to shift, thoughts begin to change,
There’s an ocean of possibilities,
There’s so much that can be done,
So much to be done.
Death is certain, it is the final harbour,
It can appear on any horizon, come at any time,
But that shouldn’t anchor us, stop us from doing,
We must keep navigating,
Navigating for ourselves,
Navigating for humanity.
