By Dr Lokman Khan
The world may hold a thousand pens,
And countless poems wait within,
But none will shine as bright, I know,
As the love for you my heart will show.
For when the final day draws near,
And whispers chase away all fear,
No grand pronouncements will I say,
Just three small words to light your way.
“I love you,” whispered soft and true,
A poem written just for you.
For in that phrase, my heart unfolds,
A love more precious than pure gold.
It speaks of laughter, shared and bright,
Of gentle hands that hold me tight,
Through sunshine warm and stormy weather,
This love will bind us both together.
So wait not for the final rhyme,
These precious words are yours all the time.
My greatest poem, forever penned,
The love I hold, until the very end.
