By Dr Lokman Khan
I’m truly alive when I create,
Enjoying nature, feeling great.
But if that joy should ever fade,
I’ll feel as if in darkness laid.
I am alive as long as I am creative,
Ideas flow, they’re quite native.
With every mark, I leave a trace,
Of beauty found in time and space.
As long as I enjoy the beauty of nature;
The trees, the flowers, every creature.
The wind’s soft song, the ocean’s roar,
In nature’s art, I find much more.
But when the quiet comes, and colors dim,
When life’s loud music turns to hymn,
In that quiet, deep and wide,
I fear that’s where my end will hide.
After that, I am dead,
No more to say, no more to tread.
Yet, in this end, a new start,
For in memories, I play my part.
